Fashion Friday: Purple Rayne:)

This is a look we (my sister thought I asked her to chime in over my shoulder.)---- threw together this morning; I am still in romper mode, I mean this fall hasn't been that cold at all, so you can STILL rock this look with your leather jacket over top.
Oh, one important thing: a lot of baby oil on those legs. If I see you out there in this fly number with ashy limbs I WILL laugh with you. :)

Back to School!

One of my absolute favorite things about going back to school was new stuff. When I was younger it was colored pencils and trapper keepers (Remember those?) and as I got older it was clothing and of course book bags. I started out using traditional backpacks and then quickly realized that any large bag would be a satisfactory receptacle to hold my books, so I started to get unconventional. While doing some online shopping, I found the perfect book bag (but not really) and I wanted to share...

This Le'Bulga bag would be eye candy on the first day of school! YUM! Maybe I should enroll in some classes!

Go Big or Go Home!

2010's new fashion accessory trend is big, loud and oversized...and you'll never guess what it is.

The hot accessory this year is (drumroll please)...the hairbow. You know, that pretty pink thing your mom used to put in your hair when you were 5? Well, they're back, and in a BIG way.
I'm definitely getting me a few of these in different colors!

Take a look at some of these photos from recent couture shows. (Mine will not be this large!!)

I'm In Love...With a Necklace!

This is quite an odd feeling. Don't get me wrong, I fall in love with inanimate objects all the time, but they mostly come in the form of leather and precious stones. You know, handbags, wallets, diamonds...the usual. Today, though, things happened a little bit differently. I was browsing one of my favorite discount designer sites, Ideeli, and came across this scrumptious Marquis and Camus necklace that I absolutely must have! Tell me you don't agree?!

Amrita Makes Me Wanna Singh!!

One of my favorite things is being able to buy something, especially jewelry, for a decent price and have people think it cost a fortune. (See my earlier post which included my criteria for picking out the right wallet). These days, there are so many crap accessories to choose from, I mean, I could go into Forever 21 and pick out 15 pieces for 50 dollars, but I know full well that not only will I have to replace the piece in 2 weeks, but my finger will also be turning a strange shade of green. In my quest for inexpensive jewels, I have come across Amrita Singh, designer of all amazing things Bollywood and Indian inspired; in regards to jewelery of course. Her stuff has been around since 2003, hasn't gone crazily mainstream yet. Here are some of my favorite pieces from Ms. Singh. Enjoy!

With a simple dress, these necklaces would pop!

These earrings are so old world stylish and only $14!!

I have ONE word of advice while shopping Amrita Singh...DO NOT, buy full price! Her stuff is always on the great designer sale sites for a fraction of the price as on her website or in stores. If you want more info about where to find this stuff, just ask and you shall receive!! Great! I am now craving jewelry!

I found my wallet!

First of all, can I say that I am EXTREMELY excited to collaborate with the super talented Sugar Bailey in making this blog the hottest and most insightful of it's kind. Now that I’m done praising us, let's get to the point.

Anyone who knows me knows that I am an accessory fiend and a sucker for details, so it's only natural that I want every item I own to be stylish and unique. Now, this would be very feasible with an indispensable cash flow (I would just buy everything designer all the way down to my pantyhose), but unfortunately, being on a budget makes it a little more taxing to be super fly all the time. Add lack of money and the tragic event of my purse (fully loaded with my Marc Jacobs wallet AND sunglasses) being stolen to the fact that I am the opposite of an impulse buyer and we approach my current calamity: I have been wallet less for about a year!

For the past year, I have stowed, stuffed and squished my money in a number of different places, non of those being a legitimate wallet, but today I am pretty confident that I have solved my problem and, you guessed it, found a wallet that I can confidently say that I will love. Before I reveal my find, I will go over some wallet criteria.
What I look for in a wallet: By Nar
1) Leather, not patent

2) Always long, never short (haha)

3) Under $80.00, because what's the point of a wallet if you have no money? My Marc Jacobs was an exception. It was on super sale AND I had a gift card! Gift card purchase = free.

4) When I pull it out people will think to themselves 1 of 2 things.
a) I want one or b) That must have cost a fortune

So, today, for a grand total of $66 (originally $135 of course) I have purchased a charming Cleobella Wallet called "The Mexicana". The line is inspired by the designer's travels, and all of the items in her collection are handcrafted, unique and have a great feminine style. The line is still only being sold in boutiques, but I have a feeling we're going to see more of this stuff pretty soon!

If your neck is horny...

...then you need to get one of these..it's sure to satisy!

If accessorizing is a sin, consider me going to hell with gasoline panties on. This chick from Trucks and Pearls makes some pretty hot scarves, brooches, and knitted earrings. Anything knitted pretty much shouts profusely "I'm ARTSY!" so I donned this bad-boy in a Mustard Yellow when I was filming in NYC for a wedding show. (Oooh I'll get to that too)-----and people were like 'where did you get that?' Go snatch something from this little shop; not only is this stuff hand-made, it's one of a kind and damn affordable. I LOVE affordable.
