Themespiration: Air Plants

A couple of weeks ago, we were tasked to design a neon wedding-style shoot where we used air plants as the guest favors.  Air plants are plants of course that do not need soil to grow.  They receive their water and nutrients through their leaves, so they are easy to care for.  This futuristic looking plant has been popping up not only in minimalist homes, but also have been incorporated in weddings in various forms.  I've compiled some air plant inspiration for your viewing pleasure.

Themespiration: White Bridesmaids Dresses

It used to be a taboo for anyone, but the bride to wear white, but recently bridesmaids have been donning the crisp white palette traditionally monopolized by the bride.  Brides are allowing their bridesmaids to share in the purity of the color by wearing white which gives a monochromatic look.  Typically, an all-white palette conveys a crisp clean look, but incorporating cream and off white tones add warmth to the overall look. Plus, mixing textures and styles makes the look more interesting. Among all the pinks and reds this month, this trend is a refreshing getaway for my visual consumption.

Themespiration: Superbowl XLVIII

Are you ready for some football?! The Superbowl will be taking place this Sunday, Broncos vs. Seahawks. This Superbowl post marks my 1 yr. anniversary on this here blog.  This time last year I wrote my very first blog post on a Superbowl inspired wedding which you can view right here. Wow...look how much I have grown! Therefore, the Superbowl post has become my blogging tradition. I have taken the liberty to put together inspiration for both Broncos and Seahawks fans. Football lovers can incorporate their team colors in your wedding to pay homage to your teams. So while you are rooting for your team, be inspired. Have fun this weekend! Who are you rooting for?

Themespiration: New Year Eve's Inspired Sequins

love! the full-length, glamorous bridesmaid dresses
It's a celebration! We are just a couple hours away from the new year and I am ready to celebrate!  New Year Eve's tends to bring the sequins out of people's closets. The fabric invokes vibrancy and cheer.  This may explain why sequins bridesmaid dresses were a big trend in 2013. It added elegance and vibrancy to the usual plain-jane bridesmaid fabric selections. Hopefully, this trend will carry on into 2014 with mixtures of sequins and chiffon (which would be my fav combination!) or other traditional fabric options.  In the spirit of New Year's Eve, get inspired by these sequin bridesmaid dresses. Until next year...

Themespiration: Photo Backdrops

Astor turf and flowers? backdrop.

Weddings are very important to most and one way to freeze those moments are through photos. Everybody wants to capture the best shots of the bride and groom and the guests.  Photo stories depict the events of the day, they capture the emotions of the moment and they spotlight the stars of the show. Simple photobooth-like pictures are few and far between these days.  Gone are the days of the awkward prom style bright sequin photo backdrop kind of pictures.  These inspiring backdrops are anything but boring and cheesy. They can be used for your guest or for your ceremony backdrops.  These backdrops are multitaskers and are ready to please. Be inspired to stand still and strike a pose with your biggest smile or say "I Do"!

Themespiration: Glam Engagement Photos

Engagement photos are the couples' introduction to the world as the soon to be Mr. & Mrs.  It symbolizes a new beginning and it captures the blissful time the couple shares... when they forget about the stress of planning a wedding long enough to enjoy the moment. E-sessions bring out the personality of the couple and puts it on display.  Lately, I have been seeing more glam e-sessions and I love it! I love the concept of making your first statement as a couple to be glam and sultry. It turns up the temperature to your passionate display of affectionate for all to see. This style is for the bold and confident couple that likes to be seen and admired.
