Another year has begun, and DIYva Designs would like to wish you all the very happiest of New Years! Did some of you start the new year off with a shiny new ring on that finger? If so, this next post is for you!
They have been by your side through thick and thin, but how do you ask them to stand by your side on your big day? A friend of mine recently received this unique and fall inspired Will You Be My Bridesmaid card last year by artist and graphic designer-friend Alicia Kulikowski. Alicia and her groom-to-be took inspiration from their rustic Vermont themed wedding and Alicia came up with the design pictured above and below.

But what if you don’t have a graphic design degree from a fancy art school? What other ways can you ask your closest friends and family to be such an important part of such an important day?
- In Person: If your location allows it, it’s always nice to ask face to face. And if more than one of your bridesmaids lives close by - ask them all out to a special lunch or dinner. Make it an event!
- Send a card: Whip out that stationary of yours and write them a little note - or want something a little more creative? Lots of stationary companies are designing cards specifically for this purpose! Just chose from one of the many Will You Be My Bridesmaids (coming soon to our DIYva Shoppe) cards out there and send them on their way.
- Prepare them with a book: With all the Pre-Wedding literature out there, you can give them a sneak peak of what to expect with a Bridesmaid Survival Guide. Maybe include a DIY bookmark with the question & wedding date written on one side and a personal note on the back.
- Call on a friend: And of course there is nothing wrong with the old fashioned phone call. Just pick up the cell and give them a ring!
And remember, it doesn't matter which approach you take - just start making those memories!
I wish I was looking for ways to do this right now...
ReplyDeletemaybe in the next few months :) I like the card idea a lot.
